In Rememberence of 9/11

I think over the past 10-12 months, I have been able to come to terms with death a little more than I have in the past. As I was going through this week, it was a pretty rough week. In the past 10-12 months, I’ve realized that life is really, really short. It's only September of 2009 and I’ve heard of about 6-8 people who have joined Christ in heaven.

First it was in December when our dear brother Pastor Goose's grandmother went to join the Lord in heaven. After that, it was the grandfather of some of my brothers and sisters in Christ. Then, it was the loss of a dear brother Victor Paek who fought a long, hard fight and did more than anyone could imagine. Shortly after that, the grandmother of a dear sister in Christ.

On Thursday, September 10, 2009, a close friend of mine, Jazmine Quintana, whom I love with all my heart, informed me of her friend who passed away unexpectedly at age 15. He was diagnosed with leukemia and while his condition was getting worse, doctors still gave him two more months to live and not too long after, he was in Heaven with our Father. Not only did she have the deal with the loss of her friend but she also has to deal with the loss of three loved ones due to 9/11.

That same morning, a fellow church member, Dr. John Park, lost his own mother due to breast cancer that spread to rest of her body. In this same aspect, her departure was sudden yet her condition was worsening at an accelerated rate.

And last, as we remember September 11, 2001, let us remember the many people who past away in service to our great country as well as those who were just living life.

As we remember these people, whether they suffered a terrible loss eight years ago, eight months ago, eight days ago, eight hours ago or even eight minutes ago, let's pray that Christ would comfort them and give them assurance of what he has in store for everyone. Everyone mentioned above has indeed played an enormous role in our lives and it's through the power of prayer that all things are possible, it’s through the power of Christ that we have a reason to live, and it’s through the love of Christ that we can live the life we live. Let's pray everybody, let's pray every minute for every person, every life, and every blessing that Christ has blessed us with. We don’t know why Christ works in the ways that he does but it’s by faith that we can continue to trust Him and it’s through faith that we have a reason to live. So in these times of desperation and great loss, let's really pray, right now, as you read this, let’s...
Pray
Until
Something
Happens
